2022 Ford Super Duty F-350: Performance
The SD (Super Duty) F-350 comes standard with a powerful 6.2L SOHC 2-valve Flex Fuel V8 gas engine. It’s paired with a TorqShift® G 10-speed SelectShift automatic transmission that’s been designed to optimize drive ratios and improve shift performance. It also comes packed with five selectable drive modes:
- Normal
- Slippery
- Tow/Haul
- Eco
- Deep Sand/Snow
If you opt for the available Tremor Off-Road Package, Rock Crawl mode is included.
With this engine and transmission configuration, the F-350 is able to generate power outputs of 385 horsepower, 430 lb-ft of torque, and when properly equipped, has a maximum towing capacity of 16,700 pounds.
The Flex Fuel advantage in the engine means it can accept a wider range of fuels other than strictly gasoline. You’ll be able to use a diverse set of gasoline and ethanol blends while still maintaining a high level of performance. Ultimately, it offers a new layer of control over your vehicle and pushes forward, adapting when traditional gasoline blends aren’t available.
On the back of that, the F-350 has two options for fuel tanks depending on the size of cab box you choose. You’ll either get the 34- or 48-gallon fuel tank. Either way, they’ll hold a dramatically impressive amount of fuel and will get you to the next job no matter the destination.
2022 Ford Super Duty F-350: Towing Tech
As mentioned above, the standard maximum towing capacity is at 16,700 pounds. What’s equally important is how the vehicle operates when towing.  The first piece of towing technology is the triple combo of AdvanceTrac™ with RSC® (Roll Stability Control™) and Trailer Sway Control. Let’s break this down.
AdvanceTrac™ is one of the two stability systems included and does a great job of focusing on harsher terrain. When you encounter ice or heavy rain, for examples AdvanceTrac™ goes to work. It uses a sophisticated system to help keep your truck stable. The second system is RSC® (Roll Stability Control™) that works in a similar vein; however, its focus is preventing rollover. It will alert you and take automatic actions to prevent that from happening.
Trailer Sway Control is another great towing tech feature and finishes off this trio. There are many factors that can cause your trailer to sway or snake away from your F-350. This system notices if this begins to happen and reduces your speed until the trailer is back in line, helping keep both you and other drivers on the road safe.
2022 Ford Super Duty F-350: Tech Features
The F-350 comes with excellent technology in the cab itself. An example of luxury is the premium B&O® Sound System by Bang & Olufsen® that brings incredible surround-sound quality to your cab. It’s like having a concert hall inside the dashboard! Powered by 1,000 watts and across 10 premium speakers, it will turn any journey into a show.
With the SYNC® 4, you’ll have a subscription to SiriusXM® with 360L, but perhaps even greater is the connected built-in navigation that comes with three years of service! No matter how far you go in life, you’ll always be on the right path, and with free software updates from the cloud, you can trust your maps are up to date, too.
